Tuition: Sunday Madrassa Does Not Reimburse Tuition after two weeks.
Student Drop-off & Pick up
- Please pick up and drop off you children on time.
- We recommend that you properly park your car and then drop off /pick up your kids.
- If you do not want to park then PLEASE Do not block the parking lot. Move your car a little ahead of the water fountain so that other cars can pass.
- DO NOT DOUBLE PARK
- Madrassa staff does not monitor or is responsible for students dropped before 11:00 am & after 2:30 pm and students in the Parking lot.
- In the interest of safety, all Weekend Madrassa parents are requested to bring their Pre-K to Grade 4 students to their classrooms. Older grade students can be dropped off at the Masjid Door.
Dress Code
In an effort to maintain an environment that is conducive to the teachings of Islam, ALL students, regardless of gender, are required to dress in accordance with the guidelines set forth by Islam.
Any student who chooses not to follow these guidelines will be given the following options:
- Student will wear garments provided by the Madrassa.
- Administration may call parents to come and pick up their child.
Girls are required to wear a hijab, full sleeve shirt that is below the hips and has no faces or inappropriate words printed on it. Long pants or skirt are also required.
Boys are required to wear a shirt below the navel that has no faces or inappropriate words printed on it and pants or shorts below the knees. All boys who wear loose pants are required to wear belts so that their pants do not fall below their Navel area.
Tardiness
All students are expected to be on time. Tardiness will not go unnoticed. Following a student’s third tardy, and depending on the time he/she arrives student may not be allowed to attend the class on the day they are tardy.
Inclement Weather
In the event of bad weather, before leaving your house please visit www.stlmadrassa.org and look for an announcement. You may try calling us after 9:00 am at call 636-394-7878 and dial extension 15. (the Sunday Madrassa extension) and listen to the voice mail for updates.
Wudu
Please make sure your child comes to the Sunday Madrassa with their wudu already done as this will save us time during Salat.
Homework & Lesson Plans
We remind our teachers to update their weekly lessons on Madrassa Website. Please visithttp://www.stlmadrassa.org/homework.htm on regular basis to stay updated. If a student is absent, he/she will be held responsible for the work missed. Parents are requested to give their email address to the teachers so that he/she can keep you informed on a regular basis.
Grading
The Madrassa’s grading policy is as follows:
A = 90% – 100%
B = 80% – 89%
C = 70% – 79%
D = 60% – 69%
F = 59% and below
I = Incomplete
Students who receive a failing grade in either Islamic Studies will be required to repeat the entire grade until he/she attains a passing grade. Students who receive a failing grade in Qur’an will be assigned appropriate Qur’an Classes, they will not be upgraded to the higher level. Any incomplete grades should be addressed to the Sunday Madrassa Administration.
Attendance
Since the Madrassa is only held once a week, consistent attendance is vital. Absent students, excused and unexcused, are expected to complete their assignments on time. Students who do not meet 60% of the attendance per semester will not be promoted to the next grade, unless they get an A in Qur’an & Islamic Studies
Excused & Unexcused Absences
To excuse a student’s absence, the parent must call the Madrassa office at the number listed above and leave a message indicating the student’s name, grade, reason for absence, and a number where the parent can be reached. Unexcused absences are absences that have not been acknowledged by a parent. Extended unexcused absences (attendance <60%) will result in a student being dropped from the roll and the student will receive an “Incomplete” grade; no tuition reimbursements will be granted.
Behavior
(Misconduct will result in students staying after school 2:15 PM – 2:30 PM. Parent will be asked to pick them up at that time.) All students are expected to maintain a respectful attitude to their environment, peers, teachers, and elders. Students who choose not to act in accordance with proper behavioral conduct will be subject to disciplinary action. Students are also reminded to be mindful of their surroundings. Any possessions that discourage a proper learning environment will be confiscated and stored in the Sunday Madrassa Office. Confiscated items will be returned only to the student’s parent or guardian.
Items that are subject to confiscation can be part of any of the following categories:
- Any sort of sports balls
- CELL PHONES (IF STUDENT IS FOUND PLAYING OR USING DURING CLASS), & pagers.
- Playing cards
- ANY ELECTRONIC GAMES OR TOYS (ex. CD players, radios, IPods or MP3 players)
- Inappropriate books or magazines
- Anything else that an Administrator may feel is inappropriate for the Sunday Madrassa environment.
- UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS A STUDENT PERMITTED TO HIT, KICK, PUNCH, OR OTHERWISE INFLICT ABUSE OR INJURY, (INCLUDING VERBAL ABUSE) TOWARDS A TEACHER, ADMINISTRATOR, OR FELLOW STUDENT. STUDENTS THAT CHOOSE TO DO SO WILL BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION.
Explusion
The Sunday Madrassa Administration will do whatever is within their authority to retain students in the Madrassa. However, if a student repeatedly demonstrate behavior that is uncooperative with the regulations of the Sunday Madrassa, the Administration will regrettably be forced to expel the student. In the incident of an expulsion, no tuition reimbursements will be granted.
Madrassa Constituents
If at any time a parent should feel concerned about his or her child, the Administration requests that the concerns be directly brought to the attention of the principal of the Madrassa. Although the administration encourages parent-teacher interaction, it is requested that all comments and questions regarding a Madrassa staff member be handled through the Administration to ensure proper evaluation and improvement process. As always, we welcome suggestions and encourage the parents of our students to be deeply involved in their child’s Islamic education and growth.
The Sunday Madrassa does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, or a handicapping condition. If you have any questions regarding the implementation of our non-discriminatory policy, please feel free to contact the principal of the Madrassa.
Medication
If your child needs medication, please be sure to bring an appropriate amount of the medication to the Madrassa office. Sunday school will not store medicine in the office. The Madrassa does not keep any over the counter medications in stock and as a result will not administer any such medication. Madrassa does not employ a professional Nurse. . If the situation demands the Administrative or teaching staff will attend to my child’s/children’s health needs with first aid materials available in our office. The action will be taken to the best of their ability. Sunday Madrassa is not liable of any accidental injury occurring on the premises.
